I know that we usually alternate who posts, but I have some great pictures that I took from today. We went downtown during school for a Shakespeare Competition, then had free time to walk around our beautiful city.

Downtown is home to the Cultural District, where this beautiful fountain had frozen over in the chill winter air.

Everyone else got Charley's Subs. I, on the other hand, had a whole wheat peanut butter sandwhich and soymilk.

In support of heart disease, wear red.

The Hallmark store was especially busy today in preparation for Valentine's Day on Monday!

I've begun to realize that I use soft focus quite a lot. Personally I believe that it creates the photo. It chooses something for the viewer to really look at and doesn't overwhelm them with many things that can be in a photo. Anyway here's some photos -H

Lone Locker

Bonjour! Why I dislike my french class.

I know what you may be thinking. I was just talking about french class in my last post, well that was before what happened Thursday. I had had my very first morning practice and got lost trying to find my locker afterwards by that time it was nearly 7:20 am. I quite possibly took the longest route imaginable and ended up finding my locker extremely late and so by this time it was 7:25ish. The bell had rung and I made my way to the french room around 45 seconds after the late bell rang and before the morning announcements had started. As I walked into class my teacher just said "oh, Haley" and continued putzing around her desk. I later found out that she had marked me one minute late. The attendance office contacted my parents and I turned in an excuse the next day. So the fourth day of a new school with my first morning practice I was marked 60 seconds late to my first period class, not missing any lessons mind you. Wow. I must've missed the most important 6o seconds of my life.

Mourning the Loss of My Camera With Shoes and Cats

For Christmas, I got a camera, but after a few uses, found that the lens was warped, and the subjects of my photographs were warped into unpleasant shapes. So, in its absence, I am forced to use the low-quality camera on my iPod. I did the best I could with the magic of editing:
